Jane’s Grey and Jane’s Black watercolor paints

Why is Jane’s Grey called that?
Jane’s Grey is named after Jane Blundell, a contemporary Australian watercolor artist and educator. She created this custom grey by mixing Ultramarine Blue (PB29) with Burnt Sienna (PBr7) — a beautiful, granulating, neutral grey.
Unlike Payne’s Grey, Jane’s Grey contains no black, so it keeps mixes cleaner and more vibrant. It’s designed for harmony in botanical and landscape painting, and several brands (like Daniel Smith) now offer it as a ready-made paint.
